The MuseumsCenter combines the history of the city, the region and mining. Historic highlights from 1100 years of the city’s development together with key features of prehistory and early history are brought together to create a mosaic of history, making the past come alive.
Seven phases investigate the events that shaped the development of the city of Leoben. The permanent exhibition “Tracks into the Past” presents a city that has always been shaped by its relationship with the Styrian Erzberg mountain, forged by the iron and steel industry and the course of its progress and standstills, by political events, social changes and its cultural potential.
